Creator defaults: 32 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD. Specific apps may need more memory, VRAM or a particular GPU backend. For CUDA software, choose NVIDIA. Everyday builds use integrated graphics; gaming and creator builds include a dedicated card.

Prices used in this comparison · eligible parts

These are dated UK retailer observations, not live quotes or guaranteed stock. Edit a price you have checked, or clear it to exclude a part. Price changes stay in this page; applying and saving a build preserves its chosen prices. The full catalogue remains available below for manual builds.

How the recommendation works

Gaming compares CPU results from ComputerBase’s 15-game review suite (6 November 2024), normalised to Ryzen 7 9800X3D = 100, with 3DMark Steel Nomad DX12 GPU references normalised to RTX 5090 = 100. CPU/GPU weights are 40/60 at 1080p, 25/75 at 1440p and 15/85 at 4K. These are editorial priorities, not predictions of game FPS. The original CPU tests used 720p and an RTX 4090 to expose CPU differences.

Only CPUs present in that same game-test suite are compared in the gaming ranking. If none of those complete builds fits, a clearly labelled general-purpose Geekbench 7 CPU fallback is shown. Creator and everyday builds continue to use Geekbench single/multicore scores. Different CPU benchmark scales are never mixed in one ranking. All scores remain model references; factory overclock premiums are not assumed to improve them.

We search complete combinations in the priced shortlist and enforce your total budget including extras. CPU/GPU performance comes first. For the same pair, gaming and creator builds prefer storage up to 2 TB, then rated endurance up to 1,200 TBW, if affordable; remaining ties favour lower cost. Everyday builds keep the cheapest qualifying support parts. Minimum RAM and SSD settings are respected. Unspent money stays available when no higher-scoring combination fits.

The shortlist now includes RTX 5080, RTX 5090, Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a 1000 W ATX 3.1 PSU. Prices and availability are dated observations, not a live feed or a search of every UK offer. You can replace comparison prices with an exact-model offer you have found. No missing price is treated as free.

Manufacturer PSU wattage and connector requirements are checked. The current air-cooled shortlist excludes CPUs above 120 W published TDP; that is not a prediction of actual system draw. BIOS, memory profiles, cooling and cable clearances still need verification. This is the strongest scored combination in the available shortlist, not a guarantee of the best PC across the market.

Catalog, pricing & privacy

RAM, storage, motherboards, power supplies and cases include all variants in the imported snapshot, including legacy and specialist products. Manufacturer checks supplement the original catalogue. Open any part’s specification sheet to see verified values, unconfirmed catalogue values and missing information. Core-check badges cover only the specific compatibility fields listed in each component panel. “No known conflicts” does not mean those missing checks have passed. CPU coolers still have a smaller selection. Use “Add a custom part” for unlisted products. GPU benchmarks are community model medians, not measurements of the particular card or this build.

Part thumbnails may load from PCPartPicker and Amazon image servers. These receive ordinary connection details, with no referring-page address, DxDiag report or benchmark entries. Missing photographs are labelled; catalogue images follow exact entries but are not independently verified. Photo sources are linked in each specification sheet.

Shopping links open Amazon UK or Scan searches. They are ordinary links without affiliate tags. The recommendation shortlist records dated retailer prices and observed stock; it has no live feed and does not receive order details. Review the exact model and final VAT-inclusive delivered price at the retailer.

This page works locally in your browser. Saving a build stores only your part choices, entered prices and budget on this device. Exported files include those choices. Opening a build file replaces the current list and can be undone. The builder does not read, store or transmit your DxDiag report. The optional Glass effects switch also saves your visual preference in this browser.
